Whoa... first post in like 3 years. Will have to revive this. Writing is a much needed escape now... 2 kids later... a home.. still working... new ventures... trying to juggle it all and make the hubby happy.
Yep, I do all this (un)successfully... notice the "(un)" is optional depending on the day you ask me! hahaha
this year's been quite busy and I'll devote another post to that.. it's called "My best friend's wedding" hahaha
okay.. just saying hello world! miss having some downtime.

daydream
Hi all,
looks like work, baby, family, wedding planning has consumed by life. I'm changing directions of this blog! lol... instead of talking bout my life, I will try to use it as an escape! haha... not a bad escape but maybe a place to daydream rather than a place to vent or update others. so yea, here we go!
I'm going on two major trips this year, Hawaii & Cancun!
I'll be in Hawaii to go to my beautiful neice's graduation! looking forward to spending time w/ the fam. Last time our VA fam went to Hawaii, I wasn't able to go. So here's my teaser, so I can keep working out.
As far as Cancun... this will be my view... from our exact room..... ;)

Taking a break
Taking a lil break from studying to share a pic of Jacey-wacey. Wow he's growing way too fast! He's almost 8 months. This weekend is his baptism. I'm a lil scared. He's grandparents, once again... went CRAZY inviting people! haha.. I'm sure we can blame that on Jace being the first grandchild on both sides. Well, if its anything like the shower, it's going to be an exhausting weekend. Boy do our families love to party.... at times it's draining, but I'm thankful we have a lot of friends/fam around us... I think I'm gonna hibernate after this weekend. lol...

#4- Accounting Classes
So tomorrow is my Final Exam! 3 hours long. Hopefully I can pull off atleast a B in the class comfortably. yes i'm nervous cause I heard it was gonna be hard. I did great in the beginning and slacked near the end! You know how that goes. Well I calculated how long it would take me to finish the Master's program... and let's just say it's gonna take alot longer than I thought especially b/c I'm only going to be a part-time student from now on. Full-time should only take 2 years.. but if I do it part time, it'll take atleast 4-5. Ohhh Pooo.... I decided to drop down to part-time so I could maintain my work-family balance and not f-up the Accounting program. Oh well, as long as I finish right?! Wish me luck!!
(ALMOST) 1 class down!! K.. back to studying!

#16- Buy plane tickets for my parents gift to go to the Philippines
Yes. I did it. Well we did it. Me and my sister bought my parent's plane ticket to the PI. We bought them from The Travel Outlet. ON SALE for $999.00 each! My parents have been so good to me and my sister... and now to my new family (Jerm & Jace) that they deserve it! They deserve a break from their stressful, hardworking, babysitting, mortgage/insurance-paying, busy American life. I wish I could give them more but I'd say this was a nice start. They haven't been back since I think 4 years ago. My mom can't wait to see my grandma and my dad can't wait to see the good 'ol fish market! haha....
I know it's bad luck to say when you're going out of town, so I'm not gonna say when their trip is, but they are going there for a few weeks!
My dad keeps saying he'll miss Jace and what should he get him. I told him just to find a barong tagalog that would fit Jace at 1 year old and 2 years old.
My dad's bday was last weekend and we also gave him a camera that he could take on his trip.... okay so it was my old, used, sony digital camera that I hate... but hey, I didn't want to give him anything too expensive in case my parents lose it in the Philippines! haha
Boy, I hope they take good pictures! You know how Aunties/Uncles are with digital cameras.
I hope my parents bring back a lot of polvaron w/ pinipig! YUM!

It's SNOWING AGAIN! - February 10, 2010
I woke up to a nice surprise today. IT'S SNOWING AGAIN! It's accumulating on the grass but not sticking to the roads! =) I'm at work, staring out the window. No customers so far. It's been snowing alot in the past few weeks. We closed the store atleast twice already, school's have been taking days off, Bern's missed work in MD for a total of atleast 5 days, our friends/fam up north have been snowed in for a few days, and it's supposed to snow again in DC/VA/MD today.
Have you ever heard about the conspiracy theory that global warming is really a hoax? One of my UPS drivers brought it to my attention one day. I'm pretty aware of conspiracy theories but this one was new to me. They say it's a ploy to benefit those who are financially invested in "Green" companies? Namely Dr Global Warming himself- former Vice President Al Gore, which by the way is a partner in a venture capital company that produces energy saving technology. He is predicted to become the first "Carbon Billionare". So is he really driven by saving the world? or by money? Makes you wonder.
OK so I still support saving the world and I'm all for alternative resources, especially oil just so the US isn't so dependent on other countries but maybe global warming isn't as critical as some people make it seem. Is it exaggeratted by a few people? Driven by ($$$) more than just Mother Nature's well being? But encouraged and carried out by people who are fooled...I mean, people who really care. Who knows.
Here are 10 tips to reduce global warming:
1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning
3. Change a light bulb to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs
4. Drive less & drive smart
5. Buy Energy-Efficient Products
6. Use Less Hot Water
7. Use the "Off" Switch
8. Plant a tree
9. Get a report card from your utility company
10. Encourage Others to Conserve
In the meantime, I will still recycle just so Jace, his siblings, his cousins, his godsiblings, and his friends... and all their kids, all have a better place to live but I probably won't spent any crazy money on any energy-saving gadgets.
Maybe I'll rethink #86 on my list... Nah.... I guess someone's gotta benefit right? Too bad we didn't think of it first! haha
I usually don't write any politically geared posts but all this snow is making me wonder what's up with global warming?! haha... but don't take my word. I've just been reading crap from the internet... only brought to my attention by my UPS driver. Your info is only as good as your source and who knows what websites you can trust these days.
All I really know is that IT'S SNOWING! =) YEAY!!
